THANK YOU ALL for a great first day at the theater!

Chaperones:

THANK YOU for your patience and willingness to step in where needed!  I really appreciated your focus - getting the dancers ready, keeping them together and controlling the mayhem.

I have posted the Chaperone Guidelines under Quick References.  Please take a moment to read through the guidelines even if you have chaperoned before - it is a good refresher!

More warm up notes:

Warm up class is required for Levels 4, 5, and 6 if you are performing Polichinelle, Candy Cane, Chinese Tea or a Company role in the afternoon or evening. Exceptions are made if you cannot miss school.  Level 3 may take the barre portion of class if you are in one of the above roles for the next performance.

If you are not performing that day you should not take the warm up class.  Exception:  Dancers performing in Company Roles may take the warm up class everyday.  

If you would like to take a maintenance class, you can join the adult classes at the studio Mon, Wed, and Fri from 9:30 - 11:00.  The fee is $7.00.

Do not arrive more than 15 minutes before the warm up class call time.

WEEKLY BULLETIN 12.7.14

Production week begins!!

Rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday will take place at the OBT Studio.
Beginning Wednesday, we move into the Keller Auditorium.  The backstage door entrance is located on Clay Street at the corner of SW 2nd Avenue.  The information is in your packet.

Packets went out yesterday.  I hope you have had time to read through the information. I would like to highlight a few items:

• Warm-up classes are for Levels 4 and up and Level 3 dancers who are Polichinelles ONLY.  We have a large group and we are in a small room, so there will be no exceptions.
• At the bottom of each day's casting, there is a "Lobby Kids" role.  Please check to see if your name has been added.  This year in lieu of a photo booth, we will have a mouse, a soldier, a sugar plum fairy, and a prince wander around the lobby allowing patrons to take pictures and ask questions.  Call times for the "lobby kids" can be found on the "Production Call Times" Form.  Dancers called are either Angels or Soldiers.  If you do not see your name and you would like to participate, please send me an email.
• Dressing rooms:  most dancers will be together in a "holding" room until they are called down to wardrobe.  There is NO privacy, so all dancers must come to the theater with their SOBT attire or required attire under their clothes.  (Requirements can be found in the packet that went out in September - also on the blog.) There are separate rooms - one for Chinese Tea and Maids and one for Candy Canes.  The ONLY girls in these rooms will be the dancers performing in that show!  I expect the rooms to be spotless every night when you leave.  If they are not kept clean, you will lose the privilege of having a private room. 

I realize the schedules can be hard to read - at first; please do not hesitate to call or email me with questions or concerns.

Chaperone forms for opening weekend will be distributed after rehearsal today and tomorrow.  This will be a VERY QUICK turn around!  PLEASE return your chaperone form this SATURDAY, December 6th!!  Below is a link to the form:

WEEKLY BULLETIN 12.01.04

ALL company rehearsals this week are at the OBT Studio.  Please arrive early so you are ready to begin rehearsing at your designated time.  Company rehearsals begin and end on time!

I have posted the schedule for Monday, December 8th through our final dress rehearsal on Friday, December 12th.  Rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday will take place at the OBT Studios; beginning Wednesday all rehearsals take place at Keller Auditorium.

I will be handing out packets on Saturday with theater information including how and where to drop your child off, what to bring to the theater, the performance schedule, performance casting, and chaperone forms for the performances.

Last, but certainly not least, casting for the first weekend can be found under "Quick References."  Please look through your roles to make sure there are no mistakes.  You should only have ONE role in Act 2.  Remember all casting is Subject to Change.
